How We Work With You
The right
equipment begins with the right fit.
Because improperly fitted or poorly designed equipment system can do
more harm than good, much equipment must be configured to function
as an extension of your body as well as provide the proper support.
Having the right fit will impact your comfort, your well-being, your
safety and your total rehabilitation.
We do not specialize in quick, drive-it-off-the-floor transactions.
Our goal is to design and craft the best system that meets all your
mobility needs. And we do it by working with you, your team of healthcare
providers, your family of caregivers and many manufacturing partners,
from whom we choose the right products to build and deliver the solution
for you. If the right component is not available, we will either have
it fabricated or modify an existing piece.
Here’s
how our process works.
Assessment
Therapeutic objectives are established by our Rehabilitation Technology
Suppliers (RTS) and the patients other health care professionals. The
RTS will then evaluate the patient's motor skills, therapeutic requirements
and environmental elements, and recommend a system that properly addresses
the patient's needs. The RTS will measure the patient, specify the equipment,
and obtain pricing information.
Funding
Package
Upon your approval of the RTS's recommended system, a Funding Package
is created. United Rehab Specialists, Inc. (URS) personnel will determine
the documents required for funding (physician title XIX, therapist's
assessment, letter of medical necessity), assemble the required documentation
and pricing, and submit them to the entity responsible for funding.
Funding
Approval
URS personnel will diligently communicate with the funding source to
expedite funding approval. As soon as funding is approved, URS will
order your equipment.
Purchasing
URS maintains excellent relationships with numerous Rehab Technology
Product suppliers, including all the major suppliers. This insures that
URS will specify usage of the right product and that the supplier will
quickly respond to our orders.
System Receipt
and Assembly
URS personnel continually track the status of each purchase to insure
that each item is received as soon as possible. Once the components
are received, the equipment is assembled by URS technicians and tested
by the RTS before delivery.
Delivery
and Fitting
The RTS will custom fit the equipment in minute detail to assure that
the original therapeutic objectives are obtained. The patient and his
family and caregivers are trained in the use and maintenance of the
equipment.
Billing
and Collection
After delivery and training on the use of the equipment, URS personnel
submit the finalized claim to the appropriate funding source for payment.
URS accepts full responsibility for submitting the required documentation
to the funding source. The patient and his caregivers are not burdened
with any further documentation requirements for collection of the claim.
Depending on the type of equipment we’re working on for you, it
will take from 2 weeks to a few months to obtain the proper funding
approval, manufacturer, and deliver the system to you.
